Peer Mediation

Peer mediation is a peace-making, problem-solving process facilitated by youth for youth. It is a process where two or more students involved in a dispute meet in a private, safe, and confidential setting to work out problems with the assistance of trained student mediators. The philosophy behind peer mediation is that students are more likely to resolve conflict and disputes effectively when allowed to problem solve, receive feedback from their peers, and have positive witnesses that can support them and remind them of the commitments made to one another in the mediation process. BHA’s peer mediation program works to foster a sense of safety among students and to further develop our positive campus culture.
